Year Round Walks and Bike Rides

  • Claremont - Downtown - Colleges
    DRIVE TO STARTING POINT AFTER REGISTERING. From 1-10 East or West exit at Indian Hills Blvd. Turn North for about a block to San Jose Ave. Turn left on San Jose to the second entrance on the left. Howard Johnson Inn is through the parking lot near the Freeway
    Route is through lovely downtown, parks, college campuses, railroad, historical residential areas and a botanical garden.
  • Claremont - Hills
    DRIVE TO STARTING POINT AFTER REGISTERING. See above for directions.
    The first route is in a primitive, beautiful park in the San Gabriel mountains with diverse trees and wildlife and a spectacular view of the valley on the descent. The second route is rated 1 and travels along a bike trail, thru a park and the local community. The weather can be very hot so walk early,carry water, use a hat and sunscreen.
  • Corona - Historic
    Register at the Corona Regional Medical Center, 800 S. Main, Corona
    Trail goes through historic Corona, featuring some lovely parks & interesting neighborhoods. Corona can be very hot so carry water and walk early. Several trail routes are available.
  • Corona - Santa Ana River Tour - Bike
    DRIVE TO STARTING POINT AFTER REGISTERING. See above for location..
    Event is on a paved bike trail along the Santa Ana River to Yorba Linda and back. Carry water.
  • Morongo Valley
    Located at Big Morongo Canyon Preserve, 11055 East Dr., Moronga Valley. The start point is in front of the park ranger's trailer.
    Trail is on dirt & boardwalks over free-flowing water & through a lush area of willows as well as desert terrain. You will be surprised to find this lovely green area in the desert hills. The trail is through a wildlife area that is a favorite of bird watchers. The weather can be very warm so plan to walk early & carry water.
  • Palm Springs - Celebrity Walk
    Located at Desert Regional Medical Center, 1150 Indian Canyon Dr., Palm Springs, CA
    Celebrity Walk Trail is along city streets passing through downtown and by the homes of current and former famous people. It is usually hot so carry water and walk early. Pets are not allowed in the hospital.
  • Palm Springs - Trail Park

    Travels along famous Palm Canyon Dr with its wonderful shops and eateries and through residential areas, parks & the homes of famous stars of the 1940's. Area is usually hot so carry water and walk early. Trail is on sidewalks and sides of roads.
  • Riverside
    Located at Riverside Community Hospital, 4445 Magnolia, Riverside
    Walk goes through town past the famous Mission Inn (where President Nixon was married) and up to the top of Mt Rubidoux as well as through Riverside Community College. Riverside is hot during summer months. Carry water and walk early in the day.
  • Sun City - Country
    DRIVE TO STARTING POINT AFTER REGISTERING. Best Value Motel, 27680 Encanto Dr., Sun City, CA.
    Event takes place in a devoping community. Much of the walk is through new housing but there is still a bit of country road. Area can be hot so carry water.
  • Sun City - Menifee

    Walk is along sidewalks and residential areas in Menifee. Area can be hot so please carry water.
  • Sun City - Residential

  • Yorba Linda
    Start at Main Street Restaurant, 4902 Main St., Yorba Linda
    The walk goes through Old Town, by the Richard Nixon Library and follows a bike/walk path with a country setting.
  • Santa Rosa Plateau
    DRIVE TO STARTING POINT AFTER REGISTERING. Baron "The Marketplace" 32310 Clinton Keith Rd., Wildomar, CA.
    Walk is mostly paths with some dirt road. The terrain is a bit rough & the hills a bit steep. Hiking boots and/or walking sticks would be useful. This is a beautiful unspoiled area of Ca. Carry water.
  • Huntington Beach

  • San Gabriel (MISSION)
    Start at Carl's Jr., 505 W. Las Tunas Dr., San Gabriel, CA.
    The trail explores the Historic Mission District which includes the Mission, City Hall Museum, Mission Playhouse & Plaza Park.
  • South Pasadena
    Start at Lucha's Comfort Footwear, 921 Fair Oaks., So. Pasadena, CA
    The trail goes through the street of Pasadena and So. Pasadena. It passes along the Arroyo Seco and "Old Town Pasadena", see historic buildings, charming neigborhoods, antique stores, various shops, and the Arroyo,
  • Redondo Beach
    Start at Best Western Sunrise Hotel, 400 North Harbor Drive, Redondo Beach, CA. Please park behind the hotel and use the back door to reach the registration desk.
    Redondo Beach/Hermosa Beach/Manhattan Beach trail goes along the beach through Hermosa Beach and travels on an unpaved path back to the start.
  • Ventura
    Start at Vagabond Inn, 756 E. Thompson Blve., Venture, CA.
    A city/beach front walk which passes the historic San Buenaventura Mission. Mostly flat, paved surfaces (sand optional).Please walk only in daylight.
  • Long Beach (NAPLES/BELMONT SHORE)
    Start at Albertsons Grocery (customer service desk) 6255 E. 2nd St., Long Beach, CA.
    Trail goes through Naples Island Canals, and along a boardwalk, sea walk and the Alamitos Bay State Park. Please walk during daylight hours.
